A group of students and teachers from IGA traveled to the Hilton hotel on the 26th of September to attend a college fair held by the Council of International Schools.
On the evening of the 26th of September, 2008, 33 members of IGA filled a 22 passenger bus and a 5-passenger Toyota in order to traverse to the Hilton hotel by 7:00 PM. The college fair was located in the ballroom of the Hilton hotel on the European side of Istanbul, Turkey. The students took this trip was to learn more about universities by talking to college representatives and picking up information about each of the colleges. "The experience was profitable because it encouraged our high school students to think about going to University," said Mrs. Sanderlin. There was also a social aspect to the trip as the 28 students got to enjoy one another's company while browsing the colleges. However, these 33 members of IGA were not alone. They were accompanied by 600-700 Turkish students who were interested in these colleges. "It gave our students a chance to be with other schools and students from around Istanbul, we don't get many chances to do this," said Mrs. Sanderlin
