El Futero

The Future...the essence of the unknown. I have come to an conclusion about people and their reaction to the concept of "Future".

People that are afraid of change, that want their life the way it is and are content with themselves in their current status, are fearful of the future. This is because these people are afraid of change in their lives and of what the future holds and will bring to them. These people are the ones that 'fear' going off to college and continuing on with their new lives rather than looking forward to college and what fun they will have.

However, in contrast, people who hate their lives, and who don't like the direction their life is going are open to the future and what it holds for them. They look forward towards college and the changes that take place there. They look to it as a new start, a way to change their current status in life and start over.

Then there is a hybrid between these two types: These people are fine with anything.  They don't really care if their life is going to change and they don't mind the change; they would be content with either.

Now to relate this to myself personally.  I am more of the hybrid between the two.  For me, the future is both scary and promising.  I am fine with my life at the moment, but I wouldn't be against any change or be afraid of it.  I like adventures and would be very intrigued at seeingwhat the future would hold for me.

My ideal future would be to go to a good college where I can get a cheap, good education. I would study Psychology, in hopes of being a counselor or something related.  I would like to be on a sports team in college, too.  Since sports take up so much of my life right now, I can't think of a future without sports.  Of course during college I would like to have a girlfriend, whomever God puts in my life.
After college, I would like to pursue a job that takes me overseas, especially it was to Turkey. I consider this my home and I can only take so much of America at one time: it's just too overwhelming for me.

Finially i would want to die at around age 115. That sounds about right. :)

Good blog, Weston. I think you've described the situation well. Glad to hear you're a "hybrid." It will make getting you to apply to schools a lot easier!

Enjoy the rest of your holiday.
